Hi-Food USA unveils egg substitutes within key applications at IFT FIRST 2024

Hi-Food USA is paving the way for clean label systems, including that of partial or complete replacement of whole egg, egg white or egg yolk. These will be presented at IFT FIRST, North America’s largest food innovation expo taking place in Chicago. 

The group is a US-based sister company of HIFOOD, which specializes in the research, development and production of natural-origin ingredients. It is also part of CSM Group alongside CSM Ingredients. 

At the event, Hi-Food USA will unveil its latest advancements in natural-origin ingredients at stand #1375. These innovations are geared towards meeting the growing consumer demand for healthier, sustainable, and cost-effective food options. The company’s product showcase includes solutions that enhance nutritional value, improve cleaner labeling, extend shelf life, and offer ‘free-from’ alternatives (such as gluten-free and allergen-free), while also boosting protein and fiber content.

Hi-Food USA doubles down on egg replacement

Among the innovations Hi-Food USA will present are systems designed to replace or reduce egg usage in various applications, including sauces, bakery goods, and ready meals. These clean-label solutions address common challenges such as cost, sustainability, allergies, and microbiological risks associated with egg use, potentially reducing costs by up to 80%.

Additionally, Hi-Food USA will showcase its ability to reduce salt, sugar, and calorie content without compromising taste or quality. The expo will also feature the results of Hi-Food’s collaboration with Alianza Team, which earned the 2023 Fi Europe ‘Plant-based Innovation Award’. Highlights include BakersBlend, a versatile bakery technology, and PowerUp, a blend of MCTs, proteins, and fibers ideal for sports nutrition.
