Sodexo has significantly contributed to Cox Enterprises’ achievement of Zero Waste to Landfill status, an initiative that has successfully diverted 92% of waste at Cox Enterprises’ corporate headquarters. This milestone comes as part of a longstanding partnership that spans over two decades, underlining both companies’ commitment to sustainable operations.
Sodexo is a global leader in integrated facilities management and food services, operating across various sectors including healthcare, education, government, and corporate settings. Meanwhile, Cox Enterprises, a major conglomerate, engages in sectors ranging from communications and automotive to technology.
The partnership’s strategy included implementing Sodexo’s proprietary waste management tool, Wastewatch by Leanpath, introduced in 2018, which has reduced food waste by 56% from baseline levels and prevented 150,000 pounds of food from being discarded.

Additionally, Cox Enterprises has collaborated with Goodr to donate over 1,500 meals, mitigating nearly 1 ton of food waste and avoiding roughly 500 metric tons of carbon emissions.
“We are extremely proud of reaching our Zero Waste goal, which is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility,” said Meredith Lindvall, Cox Enterprises assistant vice president of waste, water & nature-biodiversity.
“Together with the support and expertise of our valued partner Sodexo, we have shown that it is possible to stay focused on a long-term sustainability goal that creates positive impact for our business, our communities and our planet.”
The initiatives are part of a broader sustainability strategy at Cox, which has seen the company divert more than 750 million pounds of waste since 2013. These efforts align with Cox’s goal to enhance its operational sustainability and reduce environmental impacts.
Cox Enterprises continues to explore innovative solutions to environmental challenges, enhancing sustainability across its business sectors.
