By utilizing “imperfect” produce — fruits and vegetables that might not meet the aesthetic standards for the fresh market — Del Monte Foods helps minimize agricultural waste. This approach ensures that all harvested produce, regardless of size or shape, is used effectively.

Central to their sustainability practice is the rapid processing of harvested goods, typically completed within hours to lock in nutrients and extend shelf life significantly. In 2021, this commitment to sustainability was recognized when their Green Beans became the first canned vegetable product to be Upcycled Certified by the Upcycled Food Association, spotlighting their role in advancing sustainable agriculture practices.
